Barack,
I am not a Democrat, Republican or any other political party member. I am not Black, White or Latino, I am not Asian or Arabic. I am , however, an American, and for many generations my ancestors have been American. I have always voted for the man I believed to be the best for the job regardless of party affiliation. I served in the Air Force and the Army . I served in the mid east as a Force Protection Officer. My father served in WW2 where he lost one arm and the fingers on his other hand. He was shot in the mouth and riddled with shrapnel from a grenade. My father and I both shed blood for our country as did many other family members. This holds true for many thousands of American families. Another thing that holds true for my family as well as thousands of other American families is the fact that we love our country and we are willing to die for it. We are willing to shed our blood for the freedom and liberty so many have died for. So that there is no misunderstanding I want you to know my priorities, they are God, Family and Country. I hope you, Reid, Pelosi, and Biden along with the rest of your administration notice that government is not included in my priorities. I value things like Honor, Duty, Loyalty and Morality, just as those like me do also, and there are millions of us, Black, White, Asian, Latino and Native American. I am telling you this so you can put into context what I write next.
Obama, you had in your hands the opportunity to be the greatest President America has ever known. You could have done great things and made an entire nation proud of their choice. It is hard to believe that you took the hope and trust of a nation and betrayed every man woman and child in it. I have no doubt that you are not an American citizen. You have dishonored and degraded our military men and women. You have abused our Constitution and called it flawed. You have deliberately bankrupted this nation while destroying business and millions of American jobs. You have lied over and over to the American people while you insulted some of our closest allies. You have been a friend to our enemies and an insult to our friends. You and those in your administration have made the office of president something to laugh at to the rest of the world. You have been the worst mistake the American people have ever made. You have failed miserably in record time. The American people are not fools as you believe them to be. We know the only reason this legislature lets you get away with it is the fact that most of them fear disclosure of things they have done while in office. You must know by now that the majority of Americans reject you and your policies. You have never known the hardships many Americans have known. You have never sacrificed as many Americans have. You have never done one thing to advance the lives of Americans. You spend your time and our money helping those who hate us. You aid our most dangerous enemies in acquiring nuclear status while you destroy our ability to provide the energy our nation so desperately needs . Obama you have proved you hate America and Americans. I suppose its because you were so spoiled by Americas generosity that put you through college on foreign student aid. In closing I have to recognize the liberals and progressives who depend on you. The liberals and progressives who have taken over the Democrat and Republican parties are the most vulgar, hate filled criminal element ever to walk the earth. I never thought Washington DC would become so disgusting, dishonorable, disloyal and untrustworthy. It is truly a sad day for all Americans, I hope the majority of you in this government now never get another vote, at least another honest vote. We all know ACORN will steal and cheat as many votes as the billions of our dollars Obama gave them will supply. We can only hope the FBI still has Honor and Loyalty and will stop them. By the way Mr. Obama, Black Americans have sacrificed for America and they are proud of their country just as all Americans are proud of each other. You, Sir, have never made a sacrifice for anything. This is what makes your arrogance and self righteousness so amusing and despicable. Men like Martin Luther King made the sacrifices and carried the load. I, like most Americans, am proud of men like Mr. King and most of those who followed him. Men like you who use their good names to boost your ego when you have done nothing more than tare this country down are frauds. You have done more to divide this country using class and race than any man in our history. America had great hope for you and you betrayed that hope. All I see in you is bigoted anti American white man hiding behind a dark complexion. Those who trusted you are starting to see your true ambitions and lack of values and they do not like what they see.
Respectfully,
Art Phillips

Coburn Urges Senate Leaders to Hold Full and Open Debate on $11 Billion Omnibus Spending Bill
Calls on Senate leaders to end obstruction of civil rights investigations, medical research, energy exploration
July 24, 2008
(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – U.S. Senator Tom Coburn, M.D. (R-OK) released the following statement today in advance of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s plan to consider a massive $11 billion omnibus spending bill this weekend.
“Once the Senate completes work on a meaningful energy package that will help lower the price of gas and reduce our dependence on foreign oil, I would welcome a full and open debate on Majority Leader Reid’s election-year omnibus spending bill,” Dr. Coburn said. “However, I’m troubled that on the eve of the Majority Leader’s planned weekend debate he has so far declined to accept my offers to expedite consideration of his package of unrelated bills.”Dr. Coburn offered the following compromises to Majority Leader Reid in a July 17 letter.
I would strongly recommend that the underlying bill or the managers’ package would include offsets that would pay for the cost of any new spending authorized by the bill by reducing lower priority federal spending elsewhere as well as an explicit assurance that there would be no limitations on energy or mineral exploration resulting from the bill. This would be my preference and would require no amendments or lengthy floor debates. It would also set an important precedent that any new spending approved by Congress will be paid for rather than continuing Congress’ “borrow and spend” policies that have resulted in a $9.5 trillion national debt.
If there is no willingness to pay for the cost of the omnibus, then I would request a fair amount of time to debate the contents and have the opportunity to offer a fixed number of amendments to address cost and any other related negative impact of the bill.
Some potential agreements include:
· One related amendment and one hour of debate for each $1 billion authorized in new spending by the omnibus;
· One related amendment for each new government office, government program federal commission, park, heritage area, wilderness area, or museum created by the omnibus with at least 30 minutes to debate each amendment; or
· One related amendment for each of the individual bills wrapped into the omnibus with 30 minutes of debate for each amendment.
“Senator Reid has refused to agree to any of these common sense proposals, and he has failed to provide a CBO score of this bill, as he pledged to do in a letter,” Dr. Coburn said.
“The Senate has a nine percent approval rating because its current leaders prefer demagoguery over debate and politics over progress. Many of the bills in this omnibus package are case studies in the triumph of mindless partisanship and spin over common sense solutions,” Dr. Coburn said.
“For instance, Senator Reid and others continue to claim I am blocking civil rights legislation like Emmett Till Unsolved Civil Rights Crime Act (S. 535) when they have voted against additional funds for this effort in order to protect their pork. These Senators also continue to block a common sense compromise I offered that would allow this bill to pass today,” Dr. Coburn said.
“Senate Democrats first blocked passage of this bill in 2006 after its
sponsor, Senator Jim Talent (R-MO), agreed to offset the costs of the
bill. Democrats objected to this agreement because they wanted to deny
Senator Talent a legislative victory in the midst of his re-election
campaign,” Dr. Coburn said.
“In October 2007, Senators Reid, Durbin, Dodd and Leahy all voted against an amendment I offered to increase funds for the Department of Justice’s effort to investigate these crimes by redirecting funds from less vital special interest pork projects. Unfortunately, each of these Senators put their own pork projects ahead of victims of civil rights cases. Senator Dodd voted to protect $450,000 for a submarine at the Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut. Senator Leahy voted to protect $300,000 for the Fairbanks Museum and Planetarium in Vermont for the ‘Eye-In-The-Sky’ Program. Senator Durbin voted to protect $300,000 for the Adler Planetarium in Chicago,” Dr. Coburn said. See related Amendment summary and Vote breakdown:
“Majority Leader Reid has now taken the step of effectively drawing a moral equivalence between legislation related to botanical gardens and victims of unsolved civil rights cases. The Majority Leader could pass the Emmett Till bill today if he brought it up as a stand alone bill with spending offsets I have already identified. Instead, the Majority Leader has linked the issue of unsolved civil rights cases to other causes that are unrelated and, in some cases, frivolous,” Dr. Coburn said.
“I have detailed reasons for asking for debate on each of the bills in Reid’s omnibus bill. In many cases, I support the bills in the package but believe the Senate should live within its means, like every American family, and pay for new programs by reducing spending elsewhere. Any Senator who can’t find offsets in a government that wastes $300 billion every year through fraud or duplication doesn’t deserve to be here,” Dr. Coburn said.
“Regarding the omnibus’ medical research component, I look forward to explaining why various bills in this package that could block entities like the National Institutes of Health from conducting life-saving medical research. The disease specific earmarks in the Reid’s omnibus would essentially put career politicians, congressional staffers and Washington lobbyists in charge of medical research in this country. Medical research dollars should be directed by trained scientists and physicians, not politicians, lobbyists and celebrity activists,” Dr. Coburn said.
“I hope the Majority Leader will give the American people what they deserve: legislation that allows us to live within our means, or at least a full and open debate that will allow him to explain why we should not,” Dr. Coburn said.
“Finally, what the Majority Leader defines as my unprecedented obstruction is my desire to see the number of bills that pass the Senate in secret with no debate, no amendment and no recorded vote be reduced by less than ten percent. I have supported 855 unanimous consent or ‘hotline’ requests in the 110th Congress while I am presently urging further debate on less than 80 bills. What is unprecedented, therefore, is not anyone’s obstruction but the Majority Leader’s secret spending and refusal to debate critical legislation,” Dr. Coburn said.

This is a must watch video. Out of her own mouth she says.....
On Tuesday, December 11, 2007, the following nine Democratic members of congress voted against honoring Christmas and Christianity as one of the world's greatest religions.
Rep. Gary Ackerman (D-NY), Rep. Yvette Clarke (D-NY), Rep. Diana DeGette (D-CO), Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-FL) (FL), Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA), Rep. Jim McDermott (D-WA), Rep. Bobby Scott (D-VA), Rep. Pete Stark (D-CA), and Rep. Lynn Woolsey (D-CA).
DeGette's chief of staff, Lisa Cohen sited DeGette's "concerns about separation of church and state" to Fox news.
Apparently those concerns are only applicable to DeGette and the eight others when it involves Christianity.
The House voted Oct. 2 on a resolution that "recognizes the Islamic faith as one of the great religions of the world" and "acknowledges the onset of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting and spiritual renewal, and conveys its respect to Muslims," as well as commending those who reject hatred. The measure passed 376-0.
On Oct. 29, the House voted to recognize the Indian celebration of Diwali, in which members of the Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist and Jain religions participate. The resolution said the House, "in order to demonstrate support for Indian Americans and the Indian Diaspora throughout the world, recognizes Diwali as an important festival. That measure passed on a 358-0 vote.
All nine of the members that voted against the measure honoring Christmas voted in favor of the resolutions honoring Islam and Indian religions.
The hypocrisy of the situation apparently has not escaped the attention of Republican Congressman Steve King of Iowa who sponsored the measure. "The [nine] naysayers didn’t make it to the floor to debate. I would like to know how they could vote Yes on Islam, Yes on the Indian Religions and No on Christianity when the foundation of this nation and our American culture is Christianity…I think there’s an assault on Christianity in America,"he said.
The assault on Christianity at the hands of liberals has been apparent to us who are Christians for a long time. The Christmas resolution simply puts the Democratic party's so-called dedication to equality on public record.

Remember 2046 earmarks was slipped in this bill!!! For the purpose they knew Bush would veto it because of the 2046. They Sabotaged this bill!!! This was on purpose!!! These Liberals have our troops blood on their hands!!!
Several days ago I was reading a news briefing with Press Secretary Geoff Morrell from the Pentagon. Mr. Geoff Morell gave his opening statement:
"...there has been a great deal of discussion and, dare I say, confusion about the financial position of the Department of Defense. I'm here to tell you the department - and therefore the nation - is in an extraordinarily difficult position due to the inaction by the Congress. (All emphasis added in this article is by me)
We urgently need lawmakers to pass the President's $178 billion supplemental budget request as quickly as possible. Without dedicated funding for the global war on terror, we have been forced to finance the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan with money from the budgets of each of the services. By doing so, the Army now is on course to run out of operations and maintenance money in early February. The Marine Corps will run dry in early March. And the Joint Improvised Explosive Devise Defeat Organization, the group tasked with protecting our troops from the number-one killer in Iraq, won't even make it into the new year.
With those deadlines fast approaching, today Secretary Gates took measures necessary to address the situation. He notified Congress the department proposes to borrow - or as we call it reprogram - $3.7 billion from the Navy and Air Force payrolls. We are also tapping $800 million we have excess in the working capitol fund.
By cobbling together that $4.5 billion, we will be able to sustain the vitally important IED Defeat Organization for a few more months. But we can only keep the Army and Marines afloat for a few - for a couple of additional weeks. That means the Army will now be able to operated into mid-February, and the Marines into mid-March, but that's it."
He went on to say: "The is the last such move Congress will allow us to make. We have no more reprogramming authority, to borrow money from other accounts, to keep the Army, Marines or anyone else operating."
I posted the article "Lieberman Responds to Majority Leader Reid's and Speaker Pelosi's Effort to Force Troop Withdrawal" on my blog on post page 3. The link above is to actually listen to Lieberman's address. I also posted a report by Jim Garamone titled "Supplemental Bill Needed To Fund Anti-IED Effort, Director Meigs says (Retired Army Gen. Montgomery C. Meigs, director of the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization).
This is a way the Pelosi and Reid gang are trying to force the United States to loose the war we are engaged in so they can point their fingers at Bush and berate him because of their hatred for him. They hate Bush so much, they are willing to cause us to loose this war. When will they stop this action? When they love our country more than they hate George W. Bush! Pelosi and Reid are pandering to their far left-wing radical groups like Move-On.org, and the Code Pink groups, etc.
Geoff Morrell went on to say, "In light of this, at the secretary's direction, the Army and Marine Corps have begun planning to reduce operations at all Army bases by mid-February and all Marine installations by mid-March. At that point, the bases will be all but shut down, only able to provide the most basic safety and security measures for those who reside there. The most immediate impact will be felt next month, just before Christmas, in fact, when we will begin notifying roughly 200,000 civilians and contractors that we can no longer afford their services and that absent additional funding they will be furloughed, or temporarily laid off, within a matter of weeks.
Geoff said "This is an extraordinarily complex process which requires time and evaluation. There are complicated laws and regulations involving notification of government employees and contractor personnel. For example, in some cases, in order to furlough a government employee for 30 days, a 60-day notification is required by law. Hence some notifications will have to start in mid-December.
Generally the contractor personnel, the department can cancel or issue a stop-work notice at any time. However, contractors may have to comply with the Workers Adjustment and Retraining Act, what they call WARN, by providing 60 days notice of impending furlough to their employees. Additionally congressional notification is required for any termination of more than 100 contractor employees.
Now these are highly regrettable but entirely avoidable measures that we have to take due to Congress's inaction. It is imperative that lawmakers reconsider this matter as soon as possible and send the president supplemental funding legislation free from objectionable policy provisions, in order to ensure that we can continue to support our troops and their families, as well as protect our nation's security."
I recommend everyone to read rest of this here, and be sure to check out rest of the related reports. Remember this when you vote in 2008.
They are screwing with our Troops Minds???
Do we allow this???

and CNN EXPOSED
Thanks given to Euphoric Reality for all of this great research
and spelling it out for us with links to prove the connections,
staging debate and the people involved.
OH - AND IT GOES SO MUCH DEEPER
I know I haven’t been blogging, but this is too good to pass up.
CNN Planted Questions For The Democrats? By Rob on November 16, 2007 at 03:52 pm 20 Comments Looks that way.According to the MySpace page of the girl (one Maria Luisa) who asked Hillary the “diamonds or pearls” question, every question at the debate last night was staged.
Which is pretty pathetic. CNN should be ashamed of itself for perpetrating such a fraud on its viewers.
Also, though, I wonder if CNN extended this same courtesy to Republicans. For instance, CNN broadcast a debate in New Hampshire back in June where the Republican candidates took questions from the audience. Were those questions planted?
I wouldn’t be happy about it if they were, but I’m willing to be they weren’t. Which would be pretty telling, if true.
Her name is NOT Maria Luisa. That must be the name on her myspace page. According to the transcripts of CNN’s debates, her name is Maria Parra-Sandoval (which you can hear her say, anyway) and…she worked for Harry Reid.
http://cnnstudentnews.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0711/15/se.02.html
http://www.leg.state.nv.us/74th/Journal/Assembly/Final/AJ036.pdf
http://www.lasvegasnevada.gov/files/2005_CLA_Yearbook.pdf (page 23 has her picture, here)
Interestingly enough, Kalid Kahn, the man who asked the racial profiling question is the president of the Islamic Council of Nevada. Big dude. If you websearch, you can find possible connections to him and Harry Reid, as it appears Harry Reid visited the mosque.
http://www.lvmasjid.com/links/financial_needs.asp
Upon further search, and a link from someone on Ann Coulter’s forum, we will see that Maria Parra-Sandoval was an illegal alien, who came from Mexico as a child, but has since got her paperwork together.
However, it is no coincidence that that girl HAPPENED to be there, and HAPPENED to be picked to ask and HAPPENED to be called upon, yet HAPPENED to have worked for Harry Reid. If you websearch, you will find her name associated with him all over the internet.
Jeannie Jackson is a professional moonbat. There are too many links to put up, but we are currently searching about her possible connections to city council in a town just outside of Santa Ana, Ca. I will post that link if I find something that connects her.
Anyway, I’m sick. I can’t believe this is true. Do the research yourself, and you’ll see. Simply amazing.
http://www.lasvegassun.com/sunbin/stories/text/2006/apr/02/566679250.html
I apologize for not including this link. This is the last one about Maria being an illegal alien
I have done HOURS of research this afternoon. I’m sick at the connection. I’m sick because I haven’t got the resources to nail it in the head. (I did however, email Matt Drudge and others).
Is there no end to what they’ll do? I mean, we can’t even get real people to ask real questions? These people were fake.
I’m currently researching, but apparently some of the names were changed from the transcripts, because in interviews, they’re different. Kalid Khan is seen in websearches as having the first name Mohammed. Chris Jackson is really Chris Gallagher. Maria Luisa is Maria Parra-Sandoval. This is sick. Why would they change the names?
I’m currently researching an other one, who appears to have political connections, too. I won’t mention it here, as I don’t know that for sure yet, I’m just 50/50 on that, but if I get more sure, I’ll be sure to post the link.
I will not let this go, I watched that debate, and I feel lied to and deceived.
Let me apologize for dominating this board- it isn’t what I intended to do. However, just when I think I’m going to take a break, more things keep tripping me up and I find out even more.
Why does everyone keep referring to her as Maria Luisa? Why because that’s her MIDDLE NAME! Maria Luisa Parra-Sandoval. Wanna see her picture again?
http://www.nhli.org/2005LLLfellows.htm
And if it didn’t get any better, Harry Reid has a listing of his staff:
http://www.zimbio.com/Senator+Harry+Reid+of+Nevada/notes/1/Senator+Reid+s+Staff
(Please note that when searching the two of them, do not include her middle name as they don’t use it in their records)
More interestingly enough, here’s more info (with PICTURE) of her scholarship write up. Sounds like a nice girl, but still a PLANT!
http://foundation.unlv.edu/casestudies/scholarships.html
If that weren’t enough, there have been apparent connections to the “unknown” woman who asked about the supreme court justices (which Suzanne Malveaux stepped all over), and according to Dan Riehl’s site, she is linked to the democratic party in …*drumroll* ARKANSAS…Look it up! (she is listed as her name unknown in the CNN transcripts)
Man this just keeps getting better. I don’t know how I’m going to be able to sleep.
As promised, here is the link. The connection has been made and once everyone catches up to Maria Luisa Parra- Sandoval, the DNC and possibly CNN is toast.
The insinuation I made earlier regarding a possible plant that had to do with the democratic party in Arkansas is none other than the supreme court questioner, Lashannon Spencer. Big wheel in the democratic party in LITTLE ROCK.
The connection was first made by a person commenting in the section on Dan Riehl’s site, then Dan made it, then Hot air picked it up. what I’m giving you here are More PICTURES! (Isn’t the internet great?????)
If you can look at them side by side, it is ONE in the SAME lady! Jesus. Mary. Joseph.
I’m just waiting on everyone to figure out who Maria is, and it’s over.

Winning Our Enslavement
By Robert
Ringer
As much as I admire his intellect,
I must say that I believe the great Thomas Sowell was being a bit unkind when he
said, “Democrats are the only good reason to vote for Republicans.” Democrats
may be a hair lower on the Moral Meter than their buddies in the Republican wing
of the Demopublican Party, but at least they provide humor.
Take, for example, the latest Democratic “debate” … please, take it. First, there was Johnny “Pompadour” Edwards coming up with a really original idea: Putting an end to racial profiling. Then, there was Osama Obama coming up with another original idea: a “universal health care plan.”
But it took Hillary to come up with the most original idea of all: the invention of rights. Out of thin air, she created two rights without blinking an eye: “labor rights” and “environmental rights.” I won’t deny that her words brought a smile to my face.
Nevertheless, as embarrassed as I am to say it, I didn’t even know that labor or the environment had any rights. I naively thought that all rights were inherited at birth — by humans. No constitution needed, thank you.
But, getting back to CNN’s Thursday version of Saturday Night Live, a lady in the audience got a rousing ovation when she asked the frothing-at-the-mouth presidential hopefuls, “What do you plan to do to assure that Social Security and Medicare will be available to us baby boomers?” Gee, I’ve never heard that one before, either.
I don’t know why, but I just had this gut feeling that Ms. What’s In It for Me never got around to reading Etienne de la Boetie’s The Politics of Obedience: The Discourse of Voluntary Servitude. In his modest sixteenth century offering, de la Boetie wrote:
"It is incredible how as soon as a people becomes subject, it promptly falls into such complete forgetfulness of its freedom that it can hardly be roused to the point of regaining it, obeying so easily and so willingly that one is led to say … that this people has not so much lost its liberty as won its enslavement.”
Isn’t it amazing how the more things change, the more they stay the same? In fact, with the shrill voice of the Loony Left getting louder every day, people seem to be trying harder than ever to win their enslavement. How, exactly, is enslavement won?
Through a combination of fabricated “crises” and an insidious phenomenon known as “gradualism.” Create the crisis of your choice — global warming, education, Big Oil price gouging, home foreclosures … ad nauseam — then milk that fabricated crisis nonstop until gradualism is able to take hold and convince the brain dead that the only solution to the crisis is for government to step in and pass more laws to save us from imminent peril.
The underlying theme of all this is equality … as in, communism. Under communism, everyone is equal — equally miserable, that is. Except, of course, the thugs who happen to hold power. Or, as George Orwell put it in Animal Farm, “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.”
The harsh truth is that freedom and equality are mutually exclusive objectives. Will Durant pointed out that “…freedom and equality are sworn and everlasting enemies, and when one prevails the other dies.”
I would humbly suggest that you not vote until a candidate is willing to step forward and clearly proclaim that he or she is adamantly against any form of government action whose aim it is to bring about equal results among citizens. To cast a vote for anyone who is unwilling to do so is not a vote to lose your liberty. It is a vote to win your enslavement.
… just something to think about
when you watch the next political comedy show — regardless of which wing of the
Demopublican Party it features.

"Phony Soldiers" Ruckus
by Brent Bozell III
Issue 95 - November 7, 2007
The ruckus over the Rush Limbaugh "phony soldiers" statement is dying down. It ought not to. There is a huge story here.
What did Rush say? In a September 26 conversation with a caller to his program who claimed the media never interview "real soldiers," but just people out of the blue, Rush added for emphasis, "the phony soldiers."
The left saw its opportunity and pounced with a vengeance. Led by the George Soros-funded and Hillary Clinton-inspired Media Matters outfit, it unleashed a scorched-earth attack on Limbaugh for insulting the military, stating that any servicemen or women who might oppose the war in Iraq had been defamed by the talk show host as "phony soldiers."
The television networks, newspapers, and leftist blog sites were ablaze with stories about Democratic outrage. There were calls for his show to be yanked from the Armed Forces Radio Network. There were demands that Clear Channel make Rush apologize, and that advertisers pull their sponsorship.
Presidential candidates denounced him. Congressional leaders -- the usual crowd of Reid, Pelosi, Harkin, Kerry, etc. -- denounced him. A formal congressional resolution condemning Limbaugh was drawn up by Rep. Mark Udall (D- CO) and reportedly had over one hundred Democrat (and one Republican) signers. The message was clear: Limbaugh's anti-military insult could not, and would not be tolerated.
How disingenuous was this leftist attack on Limbaugh? Let us count the ways.
1. Before reviewing the facts of the case, one has to shake his head in disbelief that anyone would accuse Limbaugh of an anti-military bias. A day doesn't go by when he isn't praising our military on his radio program. He's visited the troops on the battlefield in Afghanistan, and brought comfort to our wounded at the Walter Reed Army hospital. He's raised and donated millions to military charities. It is no wonder that he is the single most popular personality on the Armed Forces Radio Network.
2. Less than two minutes after uttering the words "phony soldiers," Limbaugh elaborated on the subject, explaining exactly what he meant by the term. He named one Jesse Macbeth as an example of a phony soldier. Macbeth had become an overnight darling of the far left, a self-described Iraq war veteran and Purple Heart recipient man who posted a YouTube video denouncing American military atrocities he'd witnessed. Except he was never awarded a Purple Heart. He was never in Iraq. In fact, he was never in the military, period. He was tossed out of boot camp after four months. Macbeth is now in prison serving a five-month term for falsifying Army records and applying falsely for veterans' benefits. Limbaugh was right.
Limbaugh also pointed that that he wasn't the first to discuss the Macbeth phony soldier story. Brian Ross had filed a report on this man several nights before, on ABC’s World News. Mr. Ross even used the term "phony soldier" -- and not a soul on the left found fault with that.
3. So the left returned with another charge: Limbaugh had used the plural, "phony soldiers," therefore Limbaugh's sole example -- Macbeth -- was inadequate. So are there any other "phony soldiers" out there? Jeffrey Sullivan, the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Washington, thinks so. Besides prosecuting Macbeth, he's prosecuted another five "phony soldiers." Jim O'Neill, the assistant inspector general for investigations at the Veterans Administration, confirms that the federal government is presently conducting another 60 such "stolen valor" cases. Rush was right, in spades.
And when Rush fought back, that military hawk Sen. Tom Harkin took to the floor of the Senate to denounce him for engaging in a publicity stunt, for ratings. In other words, Rush had no right to defend himself.
4. The left knows Rush was correct, yet, just as with the spurious racist accusations against Bill O'Reilly the week before, the attacks continued for days, unabated. This is no accident, and no coincidence. Yesterday it was MoveOn. Today it's Media Matters. This is the far left at its repugnant worst, perfectly content to destroy a man's reputation through dishonest attacks if it will further its agenda. Josef Stalin would be proud of this movement.
Rush has beaten them all back now. In fact, as with the Petraeus/"Betray Us" attacks by MoveOn, this newest round of attempted character assassination backfired, and did nothing but re-energize conservatives. But this won't stop the left. Tomorrow it will be Sean Hannity, or Mark Levin, or maybe Laura Ingraham. This group plays for keeps.
And what of all those media outlets giving aid and comfort to the leftists who attacked Rush? Now that we know there are several dozen cases of "phony soldier" scandals, just as Rush suggested, how many stories have they devoted to them, thus vindicating Rush? Check for a Jesse Macbeth story in a Nexis database search on CBS, NBC, and NPR. Search Time, Newsweek and USA Today. Look up the Washington Post, the New York Times and USA Today.
You won’t find a one.
