It is way past time for President Bush, and our leaders in Washington, to recognize that speculators in the world oil market have declared economic war on the United States,and take immediate action to defend this country. This is now nothing short of an economic and National Security Emergency that is a clear and present danger to the United States.

Start drilling here, start drilling now. Put factories into high gear creating the technology that has been around since the late 70's that allows us to turn water into fuel on demand. Incorporate overunity devices that are already being marketed from Japan but which have been proved for decades by our own inventors.

Judge I also hear the argument that we don't have enough refineries. This is true, but this is also because of liberal legislation for the special interest groups. But there are refineries being built as we speak. I know of one in Tulsa Oklahoma that will be completed in early 2009. Yes there is much we need to do and can be doing.

Good post. I'm not sure there is a cabal that has declared war.....but, the effects of the speculation, in the world oil market, to which you refer has the same result. Self independence is the best way out of these mostly self inflicted wounds on the home front and means less dependency on the foreign market. There are simple answers to these concerns. However, the simple politicians we have can not or will not find or do not know the "simple answers."
