The Youth Vote Scandal

[this is good]
Thank you for posting this. Conservatives need to wake up and smell the Teen Spirit: what happens in our schools directly affects our country.
Why do you think all our youth think they are liberal democrats? Because that's what is shoved down their throats. Worse yet, when they are in Government class they think they can't speak back to Teacher so they don't debate anything. My Gov't teacher loved me because I wasn't a yes-girl. Whatever he said he knew he'd have someone ready to go at it. I had people ask me why I wasn't afraid to argue with the teacher. Dude, that's what it is about.

My kids have read the Declaration of Independence. They know what it reads. They've read the Bill of Rights. They know the amendments to the Constitution and what they mean. They know half of what the government does is not really abiding by said documents.

That's the benefit of HOME SCHOOLING. My oldest recently asked me about the grammar in the Declaration of Independence and asked if the Founding Fathers had bad editors. I can but only imagine the outrage if he'd said that in school. (Yes I explained to him what what meant so he understood it was proper use of words.)

We need to stop letting the free babysitter teach our children. We need to educate them and fill in the gaps the government schools leave behind.

Amen to all you said. I also hope to come across the reports about Home Schooled Children are better educated than the children in public schools. Even colleges said Home Schooled children are prepared for college, whereas public educated kids have to take classes at college to prepare for college courses.
If anyone knows where these reports are would you please post them here with source links?

I'm concerned for the home-schooled in California. It will take a long time for the home-schoolers to get the latest Court of Appeal to the Supreme Court; who has the money to fight the government which is actually funded by us. Interesting the monies that we pay into the government will actually fund the government to take individuals through a expensive, long drawn out judicial court process. So these home-schoolers will be paying for both sides of this cases cost.

I can imagine a mass Exodus out of California.

There is a Petition to Request Depublishing of California Court Case In re Rachel L here for anyone wanting to sign it.

There are several full news reports covering this story. World Net Daily News, and the San Francisco Chronicle.

The court opinion of the IN THE COURT OF APPEAL OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
SECOND APPELLATE DISTRICT
DIVISION THREE

In re RACHEL L. et al., Persons Coming Under the Juvenile Court Law.

The Teen Spirit is getting frightening. So many of the kids are so angry and force themselves on people to meet their demands and to silence differing opinions. It's wild!
I find it more wild our law enforcement is allowing much this behavior by them as well.

Lady O. I'm so glad to know you Home School. Thank God for your children too. Just think of all of the horrid public school crap they do not have to endure.

I firmly believe people should not be able to vote unless they know the constitution of the United States, The Bill of Rights, all of our founding documents and not the revised liberal versions. A tale of Two Constitutions.

Also Judges jobs are not to legislate from the bench. That is exactly what they do now - the liberal judges anyway.

Here are Five Judicial Myths that our country is being forced to live under. We need to get to the business of impeaching legislating judges, and do away with the Department of Education.

Revisionism: How to Identify It In Your Children's Textbooks
It takes more than this court case. There's actually a request going out now to not do the whole petition thing. It was one court case and it was worded badly. For homeschooling to become illegal the state legislation has to change the laws and the Gov is saying 'I don't think so." Never fear, actions are being taken on ALL levels. California has always been more difficult to homeschool in so the people there aren't up for anything they weren't up against to begin with.

:)

There's plenty of evidence of how much better homeschooled children do over public school children. Colleges are courting homeschooled children more and it is no longer what it once was... :) All you need to do is search some of the popular homeschooling methods and you'll get plenty of testimonials. Charlotte Mason, Classical, Thomas Jefferson, etc. :)
My kids went to public school as long as we could stand it. They are third and second grade drop outs. HA! I recently told them I wasn't happy about where we were educationally speaking (which is far above grade level but still) and they were crying "Please don't send us back to public school!" So they know what they have to go back to and want nothing to do with it. I need a good way to benchmark where they are. The testing they do for homeschooled kids are awful. It's not a good way to benchmark your kid. Ugh.

But yes, my kids are learning things properly. We read a lot of the classics from before things started getting watered down. Including the originial documents of this nation. We also are making sure they have a full look at WORLD history. A huge mistake in our public school system. Guess what, we need to know abou tthe rest of the world to understand America.

I'm of the opinion that before you can run for office you must be required to recite and explain the constitution and amendments. And I think we need to ask people to do just about ANYTHING before they go vote. IQ test, ask for information about candidates, anything.

Big Thumbs up...great post...you find such interesting, meaningful things to watch and read. (I finally got registered here at Vox...finding my way around now and hope to start blogging soon....thanks for the intro)
It sounds like your kids are getting a wonderful education at home by you. Do they really have to go back to public school?

World history is very important! I didn't realize how much until after 9/11. I basically never really studied much world history except to do with the Reformation and I did study some about Communism. That was only interesting to me because my sister-in-laws parents were children in a concentration camp. They actually escaped, but none of the rest of their family survived.

But after 9/11 that all changed. I was really disappointed in the education I received from public education. When I started studying I realized how important it is.

I also attended private schools, now as I look back I got a lot better education in those.

I find it really disturbing the lack of quality of questions being asked of our Presidental candidates. The SNL program was right on with their skit about the questions by the MSM.
I'm so glad to see you here. I look forward to reading your posts.

I hope they are getting a good education. If I have my way they'll stay home. :)

WOrld history is important. Because we dont know it, we don't know why we are in Afghanistan. We dont' realize the great 90's were not so "peaceful". We don't realize why 9-11 happened. We dont' realize why Saddam needed to come out of power. We don't realize that we're in Iraq for good because our troops are still in Germany and Japan for crying out loud.

I went to private schools for a while. I knew as soon as I went back into public school and had to repeat classes how good my education had been. *SIGH*

No one asks the presidential candidates good questions. Worse, people think the president has a lot more power than they do. You can blame Bush for the war all you want, but he's only got the power to send troops somewhere for 90 days. He can't declare war and keep troops anywhere that Congress won't let him. Hmmm... The list goes on and on.
Ozma,

You may already know of it, but HSLDA (home school legal defense association) is a great resource. This is their website. They also have a link for the CA petition.

I was homeschooled from first grade through high school graduation. When my mom started homeschooling more than 20 years ago, it wasn't as common as it is now. We never registered with the state and I remember hiding anytime the doorbell rang for fear that Social Services would take us away. My mom, who is a high school graduate with no college, taught all 4 of us from day one to graduation. My older sister is now a successful civil engineer, my younger sister is planning to become a doctor. None of us are socially retarded, (thanks to our church, too) and the best lesson we all learned is to take ownership and responsibility for our own education and success. Nobody is going to force-feed you information in the workplace, and you certainly won't get far if you expect others to motivate you. These are the best lessons I learned from my mom.

I plan to homeschool my own children as well, and I am confident that they will recieve a much better education from someone who loves them and wants to see them succeed than they would get from a "free babysitter" as you called our public school teachers. (However, I do know a couple truly exceptional public school teachers. That is a major calling, for those who can handle it.)
[this is good]
Good teachers seem to be the exception rather than the rule. http://nationsreportcard.gov/reading_2007/r0013.asp
here is a link to a government sponsored study which found home schoolers to be at the top of the performance scale over every other method or venue of education including public, private, and tutored grade levels 4th and 8th.
The real concern here in California about the 3 judge panel's decision is that even though parents are performing at peak levels in education, the judges are using red tape as an excuse to get those home schooled kids indoctrinated with diversity training to accept gays and lesbians as viable option for lifestyle choice.
there can be no other reason than leftist agendas on those judges' minds. It is being fought at all levels because of the outcry. If not for the authority of the voters to give politicians their pink slips, this would have already been enforced years ago.

"Rigged youth vote", I can agree with this speaker. The" white guilt", yes a real concept. And it's black men who recognize it!!!! SEE ALSO HERE. Whites are too afraid to point it out...fear to be called bigot, racist, etc.

[this is good]
Thanks Timothy. I hope all of America's eyes will open to this and come together to fix it.
[this is good]
Judge you are absolutely right. Read the article I posted today about the Homosexual Indoctrination High School required reading.

This Homosexual agenda is an all out war. They are shoving this vile sinful crap down our childrens throats and even going as far as requiring them not to tell their parents.

People better stand up for the children of our country now, or it's going to be to late. This is too far, it's a stain upon our country. We need to come together to figure out how to put an end to this.

I really say every parent should pull their kids out of public school now.

And this youth vote - pushing our kids to parrot the liberal agenda, where are the parents of these children? I would like to hear what they have to say about this.
[this is good]
Thanks Jim for the link. I can tell you I am one white woman who is not afraid to speak out! If we really consider what is going on, I'd reverse this and say they are the bigots and racist. I wish more people would stand up and show who the real racist and bigots are.

There are studies showing that in inter racial violent crime, a white man is sixty (60) times more likely to die at the hands of a black man than a black man is to die at the hands of a white. Now that's racism, that's bigotry in the real world, and not media hyperbole.
[this is good]
Very true. I keep hearing on tv and online that people are voting down the racial lines. To me, that is not a surprise. But the real story is 'who are muslims voting for and why we're not hearing that'. Another hidden report.
Very good observation. You know they are voting left unless they love the society they choose to live in. All Muslims know it will disappear if the violent activists of their own religion manage to gain control here through leftist appeasement and capitulation.
